Flow meters

Flowmeter is a device that measures the flow (volume or mass) of liquids and gases. Liquid measurement in a closed pipeline is most widely used in industrial practice to monitor fluid flow, correct dosing and evaluation of energy consumed.

Then the application can be in any type of industrial business, including food, chemical, heavy or medical. In our case we offer volume flow measurements based on induction principle or oval wheels. Both versions can be compact devices or a separate evaluation electronics unit, optionally with or without a display.

Inductive flow meters

Inductive flow meters operate on the principle of Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. Thus, the velocity of the fluid flow, which represents the motion of the conductor, induces electrical voltage in the homogeneous magnetic field. In practice, this means that the medium measured in this way must have at least the minimum conductivity (the minimum required electrical conductivity required) to cause a voltage proportional to the flow on the meter’s electrodes.

Benefit and usage

Significant advantages are almost zero pressure drops, even very aggressive and heavily polluted liquids, high stability and metrological stability of measurement that is not affected by pressure, temperature, viscosity or solids content. Thanks to these advantages, these meters are also used in dosing processes in various operations. Single doses can be in a wide range of sizes and speeds with repeatability of 0.2%. It can also be a complex system with complete control adapted to the operating conditions in the gloves, including interference with the environment with its own active valve control.

Flow meter with paddlewheel

Blade wheel measurement is one of the most widely used instruments for measuring fluid velocity and velocity through the field of velocity and is designed for all liquids, that is non-conductive. The blade itself is complemented by an electronic impulse evaluation unit with the impulse movement of the blades around the sensing member, possibly according to the set flow rate of the medium.

Benefit and usage

A major improvement is the absence of any magnetic parts for blade motion sensing and therefore much longer maintenance-free operation. The advantage is also pricelessness, balancing the lower accuracy of the meter, especially at low flow rates. According to the evaluation unit, the output signal can be a pulse, a current (4-20mA) or a flow monitor. The meter can be equipped with a pushbutton for a simple pulse constant change, 20mA (4mA flow rate 0l / min) flow rate or flow rate switching for the flow monitor.

Flow meters with oval wheels

The design of these flowmeters is based on the principle of two oval rotors, which are rotated when the fluid flows through the meter. The magnets placed in the rotors transmit each revolution to the evaluation unit and then the Reed contact itself or the Hall Effect output (or another depending on the type of the evaluation unit and its outputs). They are characterized by high repeatability and accuracy over a wide range of fluid viscosity and flow rates, which are not influenced by pulsating flow, conductivity or viscosity.

Benefit and usage

The low pressure drop and high nominal pressure mean that the MAGNAUGHT flowmeters are suitable for both self-leveling machines, where due to the unique design of the rotors, they cause only minimal pressure losses, as well as equipment using pumps. Due to their design, they do not require straight piping in front of or behind the gauge or other deployment conditions. They are characterized by a very simple service by replacing the damaged parts on the spot. Various display units with outputs are available to all meters as required by the customer. These flowmeters are manufactured in different designs according to the different types of media, which corresponds to the material design of the type of particular flow meter.
